L’azienda si trova a circa 7 Km a sud di Siracusa e a poco più di mille metri in linea d’aria dal mare. L’aeroporto di Catania è a circa 65 Km. La masseria faceva parte del feudo della Milocca, la cui torre, tuttora abitata dai proprietari, domina la zona. E’ circondata in buona parte da “giardini” di agrumi, e, in primavera, è avvolta dal fresco profumo della zagara. Fino al dopoguerra la zona era rinomata per la produzione dell’ormai raro moscato di Siracusa e di un vino quasi nero, molto alcolico. A memoria di ciò, nell’edificio principale si trova il “palmento” in pietra dove l’uva veniva pigiata. Altra testimonianza del passato è il vecchio forno per la cottura di profumati “pani di casa”, “scacciate”, “impanate”. ALLOGGI Dieci camere e quattro appartamentini con angolo cottura o cucina, tre dei quali soppalcati. Gli alloggi conservano le caratteristiche delle vecchie case siciliane di campagna, ma sono tutti dotati di climatizzazione e bagno privato. DA VEDERE Le mete classiche: Siracusa, Noto, Modica, Ragusa, I gioielli poco noti: Palazzolo Acreide, Buccheri, Scicli, Donnafugata. Le escursioni: Fonti del Ciane, Cava grande, Pantalica, Etna, Oasi di Vendicari. IL MARE Le falesie del Plemmirio che, in determinate condizioni di mare, offrono il suggestivo spettacolo degli alti spruzzi simili ai “geiser” e le spiagge dell’Arenella e di Fanusa, sono a breve distanza. Con qualche chilometro in più si giunge all’ampia spiaggia di Fontane bianche con il suo imponente arco naturale, al fiordo di Ognina e all’Oasi di Vendicari col mare dai colori tropicali. The farm is situated 65 km from the airport of Catania, 7 km south of Syracuse, some 1000 meters from Mediterranean Sea. The farm used to pertain to the Milocca estate together with its tower (where the owners still live) that overlooks the entire area. The farm is mostly surrounded by citrus fruit "gardens". On Spring evenings when the flowers begin to bloom, the intense fragrance of the orange-blossom fills the air. Up until after the war the area was well known also for its Muscat and its heavy, almost black colored wine. As a reminder of those times, the main building houses the stone "palmento". Another reminder of the past is the old oven which makes you think of fantastic mouth watering smells of homemade bread, "scacciate" and "impanate". ACCOMMODATIONS Ten rooms and four apartments with either a cooking area or a separate kitchen, almost of them with separate entrance leading into the surrounding gardens. They preserve the appearance of the old Sicilian estate but are completely renovated and now feature air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. THE SEA The Plemmirio cliffs, that under specific conditions offer a terrific view on geyser-like high spray fountains, the Arenella and Fanusa beaches are a stone's throw away. Just a few kilometers further lie the wide white Fontane Bianche beach with its imposing natural stone arch, the enchanting Ognina fjord and the beautiful tropical-coloured Vendicari oasis. Das Gut liegt zirka 7 km südlich von Syrakus, 65 km vom Flughafen Catania, während in Luftlinie das Meer nicht viel mehr als tausend Meter entfernt ist. Der Hof gehörte ursprünglich zum Lehen "Milocca", dessen Turm - noch heute von den Eigentümern bewohnt - die ganze Umgebung überragt. Der Betrieb ist fast auf allen Seiten von Zitrusfrüchten-Hainen umgeben. Im Frühjahr hüllt der frische Duft der Orangenblüten die ganze Gegend ein. Zur Erinnerung an frühere Zeiten, als die Gegend auch für den nunmehr äussest seltenen Muskatwein und einen schweren, fast schwarzen Rotwein bekannt war, ist im Hautgebäude der steinerne "palmento" erhalten geblieben. Ebenfalls Spur der Vergangenheit ist der alte Ofen, in dem das Hausbrot, die "scacciate" und die "impanate" gebacken werden. UNTERKÜNFTE Zehn Zimmer und vier kleine Wohnungen mit Kochnische oder kleiner Küche, von denen drei durch eine Zwischendecke unterteilt sind. Die Unterkünfte behalten die ursprüngliche Form der antiken sizilianischen Bauerhäuser, sind aber erneuert und mit Klimaanlage und eigenem Badezimmer ausgestattet.
